Devnagari Script , the fourth most widely used script in the world

Devanagari script is the fourth most widely used script in the world, following Latin, Chinese, and Arabic! (Yes, Hindutva supporters might not like it, but for the time being, considering the assault from the Tamilians, please accept it! šŸ˜ŗšŸ˜) By the way, what does " Devanagari " mean, as used in the name of the script-  Devanagari   ? I know many of you might be tempted to think that " Devanagar " must refer to some place in ancient India, with historians having found connections to the use of this script. You're wrong! " DEVANAGARI " in the name of the script is a referential term, which, in ancient India, was used for any place considered an urban or mega city . Yes! DEVANAGARI simply meant " Bada Shehar " (big city)! So, the language spoken in the large cities of ancient India had a script for writing, and historians found that, depending on the kingdom or region, there were many languages, but all of them shared the same script for ...

Bureaucractic decisions VERSUS Operational decisions

Not many of us realize, but decisions made in meeting rooms often tend to be prolonged, stretched, and delayed. This is why decisions made in meetings are frequently considered bureaucratic in natureā€”they can be withheld, withdrawn, altered, or modified. When a decision goes wrong, the blame for the resulting consequences is often passed down to someone lower in the chain, most commonly someone within operations.  However, decision-making on the operations side doesn't have such flexibility. Operational decisions must be made quickly, with limited resources, and often arise at the eleventh hour, leaving little or no time for reflection, data gathering, or securing the necessary resources that might ease the consequences if the decision doesn't work out.   For instance, if a dock master believes the power of the tugs available to him may be insufficient to handle a large ship, the issue will likely arise at the proverbial "eleventh hour." He will have to decide whet...

The value of Humour in Democratic Politics

Humour is the best spice of life. It makes a person popular. In the politics of a democratic state, where the contest is almost always between what is right and what is popular. No matter how right a person may be, if he fails to win the favor of the masses, he will be dismissed. On the other hand, no matter how wrong or flawed another person may be, if he manages to win public favor, he will succeed. Winning the favor of the masses is the first step in a democratic power struggle. To do so, one must get the public to listen only to their views, while ignoring those of their rivals. This allows them to easily conceal their own flawsā€”whether in beliefs, ideas, or characterā€”when compared to a rival with stronger, more well-developed attributes. So, how can one make the public behave in this way? By adopting a humorous persona. Popularity can be achieved by adopting a cheerful, humorous personality. However, people often equate humor with hilarity. Hilarity can be achieved through various...
