Why most people despise those trying to take a higher moral ground
A large part of the population does not want to talk Morality. It does not like poeple who ask the moral questions, those questions which rise from Reflective Thinking,; people who ask the question to someone's Conscience, are abhored.
Self Criticism is considered weakness by the majority of human beings.
Why is that "trying to" take a "higher moral ground" considered a fault, a vice behaviour, and not an appreciated conduct?
Why is it so? Why do the major chunk of human populace behave so?
Think critically, the answer is easy to find.
Large part of population is pressed to adandon Morality in course of their life struggle.
So, they see a moral crusader as an oppressor of their soul. They hold a thought that such moral crusading persons are only being a hypocrite because a wider, unspoken truth would hold it that they too must be getting pressed , like all others, in their life to adandon Morality , and they must be doing so in the dark, secretly.
Interestingly, all this is nowadays a part of the Secular conduct of the society . The authentic conduct in the culture of Secularism entails within it, the despise for Moral positioning by any person.
But there is a price of such acts of Secularism, to pay out.
The adverse reactions of people avoiding to search , accept and practise the morality is that people abhor the Idealism as well.
And troublesome result of ignoring the Idealism is that people fail in their own minds, to draw the Ideal position which is supposed to be the best yardstick for measuring and for theorising the abundant randomess of the nature around us. In other words, what we call as the practicality , we will fail to understand it.
The understanding of 'what's the rule?' and 'what's the exception to that rule?' is built with the help of measurement taken from the yardstick of Idealism.
Thus, just like how without the hypothetically existing ideal gas , we cannot understand the nature of the atmosphere which envelopes the earth , in same way, without the Idea UTOPIA, we cannot understand the Politics, the Realpolitik, Public Administration and the laws and the jurisprudence around us.
People , as a result , fail in their wisdom to know and appreciate the position of NEUTRALITY , the position of those of us who are the Objectivist; those who have attainned detachment, and reached a point in their life of where there is no affliation with any of the two warring poles. Those neutral persons who must be treated as the respected members of the civil society groups, which, in turn is the guiding light of the system of Government.
But, the last and the astonishing part about Despise for Morality is that, people want every other member of the society to abide by the Morality!
This, because, in the deepest cornors of their hearts and minds , they know that the world will fall apart if everyone begins to abhor the morality . So, they know and think that the Right to depart from Morality must be a private and secret Right, availed only by themselves, and none other.
Our heart derives this wisdom on it own, that Morality, till this day, remains the best known form of the law that governs the society all through and keep things in order . Our conscience knows it that Morality is the eternal binder of the society.
