Exploring the legal technicality on how a beef meat prohibition can be adopted in a secular state

Justice Katju surely makes sense.

However I will want him to throw some light on the remedies availble within our civil laws to disputes such as these. I think that despite being a secular country, it is possible for anyone to adopt a civil law stipulated prohibition on any commodity in order to avoid hurting the feelings of a large group. In Ireland, the ban on Abortion in surely not in keeping with any of the scientific rationale known to mankind. Thus,  such a ban ,under the pretext of Right to Life, is only serving the religious viewpoints of the majoritarian group.     The rationale which i wish to bring forth is that despite not in keeping with any scientific rationale, it may still serve certain purposes to adopt and promote certain practises of faith for they nurture certain human values within us. The practices may vary across various cultures but their intrinsic aim would remain the same.
As the way it has been put in place already, by a mutual agreement it is possible to legislate a prohibition of certain kind. The key point would be that the retributions for violations of such a law should be kept restrained to monetary penalties or a  small term, mild, incarceration. Such a fine must be ensured to be coming only through a lawful institution and also that the law enforcement must ensure to save the majoritarian group from taking law into its own hands. of this irrational law in Ireland when the doctors denied her an abortion which had become essential in order to save her life.
